March is here.

Hello March. The dreaded month for me and lots of other wives....as deployment is only days away. But with that means lots of other service men and women will return, so for that I am so happy! We all have the cooties around here, but trying to enjoy our last moments together in the states.

I have mixed emotions about this month...
I didn't want it to come because my husband is off to fight in Afghanistan, but on the other hand I'm ready for the month to come and go and the get the rest over-with. The looming deployment is always on my mind and it's time to get through it. BRING IT ON. I'm ready. My husband is ready.

To all my friends and family:
If I have crazy out bursts and flares of emotion, please forgive me and don't blame yourself. I am sensitive right now. The slightest things make me cry. I am reminiscing all the good times and looking forward to the future though. I will get back to normal soon, I promise!

If you would like updates on Jake (and whatever I know about Max), please email me at beckygauthier@ymail.com. And if you would like Jake's address for overseas, contact me. I can also give you some ideas of things to put in care packages, if you'd like. I'm sure Jake will let me know if he needs specific things, and I will pass on the information.

I appreciate all your support and encouragement and so does Jake.
Stay tuned for updates :)

  2. Jake, Becky, your family and friends...I/we reached out to one of our sweet friends that retired from the military for words and prayers, since he has walked this path and many others. Here are our prayers for you this month and the coming days ahead.

The best prayer he has heard for soldiers going into battle is the one that an Infantry Battalion read, every day, during World War I... it is Psalm 91...This unit gathered together each evening and read the entire Psalm asking for God's protection from harm... EVERY soldier returned from combat, without injury/loss of life... it is an incredible testament of His presence over those in battle...This is the prayer that he would first recommend. His second recommendation is, of course, the 23rd Psalm, where God protects each of us going through the Valley of Death... we will fear no harm.... So many promises of goodness and faithfulness for us, His children. His next favorite is the one that focused my life after Mike’s Homegoing (only child) and Julie's (wife) as well. It is Isaiah 41:10 ... I say it to myself just about every day... I think the brothers would easily memorize and cherish this one as well... Pray these prayer suggestions are of some help to them and their parents...

We will continue to keep you in our prayers! Love you Lori and Dave
